The American Freedom Train in Sacramento, California
November 28-30, 1975

The train's 46th display city.

The train displayed in Old Town Sacramento, railhead of the first transcontinental railroad and future site of the California State Railroad Museum (also designed by AFT designer Barry Howard).

Sacramento was later the site of the 1998 American Freedom Train Crew Reunion.

It was here that a two-year-old Brian Wickstrom visted the train with his mother.

Says Brian: My mom remembers buying me a big sucker from the local candy store and the pendant that is in the picture. You can see my mom and I posing in front of the train in the second picture. We are the only two facing the camera.

Images: Brian Wickstrom collection.
