When the train started out, visitors were handed an "audio wand" to hold to one ear in order to hear narration to the displays. This proved too cumbersome, and they were quickly dropped in favor of narration output from the cars' speakers that were already broadcasting music and effects.

Photographed at Minneapolis.

The car was meant to act as a buffer, allowing visitors time to adjust their eyes to the dark before stepping into car #101 and onto its moving walkway. It also provided a buffer between the outside air and the displays in the rest of the train.

The car went on to serve on the Canadian Discovery Train. Scrapped in 1995 outside Las Vegas, NV.
