American Freedom Train Belt Buckles

Belt buckles were available in various styles.

The top one was originally cast by an AFT crew member as a way to make extra money. The first batch made were cast from metal left over from the restoration of locomotive #4449 itself. (Later batches were made from whatever bronze could be found.)

The buckle below is of a newer vintage and was available in 1998.

 
 

This buckle was based on the medal made by Medallic Art Company, but with the addition of the number "1976" atop the map of America.
