The
American Freedom Train by MTH
In 2001, MTH
announced their Premier line Daylight locomotive and a matching
set of five cars would be offered in AFT colors.
The announcement
came in a special catalog released not long after 9/11 and included
an offer for a special boxcar, profits from which would be donated
to a nonprofit organization established to aid the NYC Fire, Police,
EMS and other city employees involved in search and rescue. |

Freedom Train GS-4 Auxiliary Water Tender
In their 2003
Vol 1 Catalog, MTH announced a water tender to match their Premier
AFT GS-4 locomotive, based on the water tender that currently runs
with the real Daylight locomotive, though it has never had this
color scheme.
The "Let's
Roll" lettering and flag are authentic and have appeared on the real tender. They refer to Todd Beamer's
last audible words in a call from United Flight 93, September 11,
2001. The hijacked plane never made it to the hijacker's intended
target, instead crashing into a field in PA.
MTH item #20-3077-3
